Steel Mace Flow
Nov

Steel Mace Flow

Steel Mace Flow is an unconventional functional movement system that utilizes the steel mace. In ancient times the mace was known as a gada. Due to the offset weight distribution the gada was able to utilize the momentum of a swing to cause great damage to its target. In present day the mace is utilized as a tool to bring the mind body and spirit into alignment through a system of dynamic movement and flow aka transient hypofrontality.

Benefits include:

•Physical and mental exercise

•Functional strength and mobility

•Rotational strength and stability

•Core activation and balance

•Access to flow state

Steel Mace Flow is an ancient balance of dynamic movement, dance, strength training, endurance and flow. Because of its ability to grant access to pain-free movement, grace and strength it has become the focal point of my own personal training practice and I am excited to share this with you!

Why Aikido? This is a question that I don't get asked enough as a Teacher.Aikido, to me, is like instructions on how to live your life, more than just a "style" of martial arts, there are hundreds of different martial arts schools out thereWHY IS AIKIDO ANY DIFFERENT?AI-KI-DO can be broken down simply into "the way to harmonize energy"or how can I be in harmony with the world around me?a question that I have consistently instilled into our young martial artists for over 9 years.Aikido has all of the great benefits that most martial arts teach;Self-Defense, Confidence, Leadership Skills, Perseverance, Character, Self-Discipline, healthy lifestyle, and much more.but-Aikido has something unique going for it.A philosophy of conflict resolution drives it.peace, inner competitiveness over the external competition, sympathy for the "attacker"Aikido essentially is instructions on how not to fight in a fight.which as a martial art sounds very contradictory to what most peopleknow martial arts to be good for.Aikido is a lifestyleand it promises to help teach us that there's always a better way.Why do I teach Aikido?I teach it because Aikido is what I needed when I was younger.one of my drives to be the person I am today is to become the person I needed when I was younger, to become a role model for the young souls and the next generations;Aikido is my vehicle of choice to help create a world of peaceful warriors!-Sensei Matthew AddisonAikido St.Pete offers dynamic classes for adults and kids ages 5-100, our classes are taught by the chief instructor Matthew Addison who is a 2nd-degree black belt (nidan) and has been teaching Aikido for a decade?our kid's and adult classes are created around the philosophy of how to live our lives in harmony with the world, not only covering the basics of self-defense but utilizing unique principles only found in Aikido, each kid's/adult class instills a lifelong curiosity for self-discovery, opportunities to advance in rank, under the largest Aikido federation in America *USAF, we offer a guarantee that you and your children learn, retain new knowledge, build strength mentally and physically and have fun!?I can only tell you so much of what we offer at the dojo without repeating myself, but no matter how good I articulate, it will never compare to the never-ending lifetime skills your child or yourself will gain from the practice of Aikido.

Sound Healing Journey with Lindy Romez

Sound Healing Journey with Lindy Romez

Sound Baths are very profound healing musical experiences and an easy way to meditate, heal, and transcend any disharmonies within the mind and body. Lindy uses Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, biosonic tuning forks, shamanic drumming, Native American flute, chanting, and various other sounds to help drop the brain into relaxing brainwave states.. Participants lay on the floor in supported savasana (corpse pose) to allow the waves of sound, frequency and vibrations to wash over them. Sound baths are a great compliment for those new to meditation and those who practice meditation regularly. If you are experiencing pain in the mind and body, this sound bath has been carefully designed to partner with you to assist in transcending lower frequency energy so you may alchemize to the higher frequency being that you are.

These instruments have been used for centuries for healing and meditation purposes. They create a range of sounds and frequencies that are harmonious to our nervous system and help to restore out-of-harmony parts of the body and mind to align us with our soul. The sounds generated by these sacred instruments are a type of vibrational medicine that promotes healing from stress, pain, depression, and most forms of dis-ease in the mind and body complex. The healing processes are initiated through en-training our brainwaves to synchronize with the perfect resonance of the universe through the unique range of tones that emit from these instruments. These tones create the perfect state for deep meditation, creative thinking, intuitive messages and powerful healing. The pure sonic waves that ring from these instruments wake up our ability to hear with more than our ears. We invite you to come and experience for yourself the powerful deep states of meditation that even someone new to meditation will be able to experience easily.

About the Facilitator

http://www.lindyromez.com

Lindy has been providing Sound Baths in the Tampa Bay area since her trip to India, March 2017. Along her own journey of healing and using sound to bring harmony to her own life experience, Lindy a former 82nd Airborne Division soldier, began to understand through the awareness of the high rate of suicide among fellow veterans that there is a need for community healing. Lindy believes that we all suffer on some level from time to time as it is a part of our life experience, and sound can be the best medicine. Through her non-profit Calm One, Inc, 501c3,

that was originally inspired by the high rate of suicide amongst veterans and the increased awareness of the mental health crisis that exists within all demographics. Her research began in 2019 and is ongoing on how sound, frequency, and vibration can offer the resonance to harmonize disharmonies within the mind and body complex. For more information and to donate visit, http://www.calmone.org

Lindy’s Collective Intention:

Steel Mace Flow

Come one, come all to a warm and welcoming exploratory space, where your voice and song are perfect exactly the way it is.

Everyone has a song to sing. Whether you consider yourself a prolific musician, a shower singer, or have never sung a note in your life, you have something to share with us, and we want to hear it.

We’ll start with some breathing and vocal icebreakers to get into an expressive and playful spirit, and then we’ll move into some traditional “circle singing” exercises, connecting our voices and improvising together to make harmonies and little ditties that fit together, finding the music between us.

This workshop is for you if:

* you want to feel free to express yourself with your voice

* you want to learn how to improvise vocally with other people

* you’re interested in deep listening and connection with a warm and welcoming group
