Join us Sunday mornings at 8:30 am for Sacred Study, a group exploration of the Sacred. So far we've covered the Bhagavad Gita & The Upanishads.
The term "Noosphere" was coined by the French philosopher and Jesuit priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.
The Noosphere is a concept that refers to the sphere of human thought, encompassing the collective consciousness, knowledge, and intellectual activity of humanity.
Teilhard de Chardin proposed that, just as the Earth has different layers (like the lithosphere and biosphere), there is an emerging layer of human thought and consciousness that he called the noosphere. This concept suggests that as humans evolve and become more interconnected through communication and information exchange, the collective human mind or consciousness also evolves and forms a new layer of Earth's existence.
The Noosphere concept has been influential in various fields, including philosophy, theology, and the study of human culture and evolution.
It represents an idea of global interconnectedness and the evolution of human thought as a fundamental aspect of the planet's development.
